How to use pump.fun data in Claude or ChatGPT with an MCP server
AI assistants are good at explaining on-chain data, but they cannot read the Solana chain on their own and will happily guess when asked about a specific token. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) fixes that by letting the assistant call an external data source and answer from what it returns. This guide explains how MCP works, how to connect the free public BotSharper MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT or another client, and what kind of questions it can answer about pump.fun wallets and tokens.
What an MCP server does
MCP is an open protocol that lets an AI assistant discover and call tools exposed by a server. A remote MCP server is reached over HTTP: the assistant asks the server which tools it offers, then calls one with arguments and reads the result. For on-chain data, this means the assistant quotes figures computed by the data source instead of inventing them. It does not make the assistant's own interpretation more reliable, which is why it helps to know exactly what each tool returns.
The BotSharper MCP server
According to the site's llms.txt, BotSharper runs a free and public MCP server at https://botsharper.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, JSON-RPC over POST), listed in the official MCP Registry as com.botsharper/botsharper. It exposes seven tools, all read-only:
| Tool | Argument | What it returns |
|---|---|---|
botsharper_simulate_bot | entry speed, take profit, stop loss, holding time, filters | Replays the bot settings on real recent pump.fun launches (fees, priority fee and price impact included, pessimistic fills): median final balance from 3 SOL, share of replays that ran out of SOL, result per trade, and the median real result of bots that buy as fast |
botsharper_test_my_bot | address (public Solana address) | The bot's net result in SOL over the measured period, fees included and unsold tokens valued at the lower of cost and market price, number of positions, share of winning positions, rank among active bots, last 7 days |
botsharper_check_wallet | address (creator or wallet) | Whether the address is a serial pump.fun creator (3+ launches in 7 days) or a wallet that repeatedly buys in the launch block of a serial creator's tokens |
botsharper_pump_weather | none | Today's pump.fun weather: launches, prepared launches, creators dumping within 5 minutes, which entry speed made money in the last 24 h, serial launch teams |
botsharper_releve | adresse (public Solana address) | The wallet report: percentile, quintile, closed positions, share of winning positions, average multiple, share of total losses, with the quintile benchmarks |
botsharper_jeton | jeton (token mint address) | The token sheet: birth, buyers in the birth block, first second and first 10 seconds, creator buys and sells, share of the 5 largest buyers in the first 5 minutes, migration to PumpSwap, buyers, sellers, volume, and how many buyers are ranked in the report |
botsharper_reperes | none | The benchmarks of the five quintiles and the size of the measured population |
The last three tools have French descriptions. Assistants read them without difficulty and answer in your language.
How to connect it
- Claude: open Settings, then Connectors, click Add custom connector, paste
https://botsharper.com/mcpand click Add. Anthropic lists custom connectors for the Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. - Claude Code: run
claude mcp add --transport http botsharper https://botsharper.com/mcp. - ChatGPT: on the web, open Settings, Apps, Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. Click Create app, paste the same URL and choose No authentication. In a chat, pick Developer mode and BotSharper from the + menu. OpenAI offers developer mode to Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education accounts.
- Other clients: any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP can use the URL directly.
Step by step, with copy buttons: Use BotSharper in ChatGPT or Claude.
To check the server responds before you configure anything, list its tools from a terminal:
curl -X POST https://botsharper.com/mcp -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "Accept: application/json, text/event-stream" -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list","params":{}}'
Questions you can ask
- "Simulate a pump.fun sniper that buys 5 seconds after launch, takes profit at x2 and stops at -30 %. How long would 3 SOL last?"
- "Is the creator of this token a serial launcher?"
- "How many buyers were in the birth block of token
<mint>, and what did the creator buy and sell?" - "Where does wallet
<address>rank, and how do its indicators compare with the benchmark of its fifth?" - "Show me the five quintile benchmarks and explain what separates the top fifth from the bottom one."
- "Did token
<mint>migrate to PumpSwap, and how concentrated was buying in its first five minutes?"
Every answer is built on past data. The tool descriptions say so themselves: facts about the past only, no prediction, no advice. If an assistant turns the figures into a buy or sell recommendation, that is the assistant's own inference, not BotSharper data.
Privacy: what changes compared with the website
On the website, the site states that the address you type never leaves your browser. Through MCP, the address is necessarily sent as an argument, to your AI provider and to the BotSharper server. BotSharper's limits page states: "Addresses looked up are not stored, not logged, not resold." Only ever share public addresses. No tool asks for a private key or a recovery phrase.
Free access and Pro access
The public MCP server, the website, the token check page and the Telegram bot @BotSharperBot are free. The Pro page offers a personal key for 0.1 SOL for 30 days, paid in SOL and verified on-chain, with no account and no e-mail. It gives direct JSON access to a wallet's report and a token's sheet for your own bots, and a personal connector address for Claude and ChatGPT.
Limits
The MCP tools return the same data as the website, with the same limits: the rank is measured on the past, addresses are not people, and the scope stops at the markets covered. Read What we don't know and the Method before relying on an answer, and check any figure your assistant quotes against the tool output.
FAQ
Is there a free MCP server for pump.fun data?
Yes. BotSharper's MCP server at https://botsharper.com/mcp is free and public, according to the site's llms.txt. It simulates bot settings on real launches, tests a bot wallet's real result, flags serial creators and launch-team wallets, and returns pump.fun weather, wallet reports and token sheets.
Do I need an API key to use it in Claude or ChatGPT?
Not for the public server. A Pro key (0.1 SOL for 30 days) gives a personal connector address and direct JSON access for your own bots.
Can the assistant tell me which pump.fun token to buy?
Not from BotSharper data. The tools describe what already happened on a wallet or a token. BotSharper gives no forecast and no advice, and names no asset.
